Multiple Teams · More Records Fall At Hal Anders Invitational


High Jump

A total of 18 Canyon View records fell at the Hal Anders Invitational at Apollo High School this weekend. Na’ima Stenson and Brooklyn Grizzell each accounted for three girls records to help lead the Jaguars.

Stenson set the school marks in the 100 meter and 200 meter, while teaming with Grizzell, Lila Ortega and Aaliya Oliver to break the school 4×100 meter record. Grizzell set school records in both the 110 meter high hurdles and 300 meter hurdles as well.

Not to be outdone, sprinter Mason Watson broke the school 100 meter and 200 meter records, while Santino Varvel set the school record in both hurdles event on the boys side. Tyler Anderson was named CVHS Outstanding Performer for the boys after placing 1st overall in the javelin.

Both teams will be back in action on April 14 at Agua Fria High School.
